Peru’s President Pedro Castillo appoints Betssy Chavez as prime minister

Peru’s President Pedro Castillo addresses the audience during the opening of the VII Ministerial Summit on Government and Digital Transformation of the Americas, in Lima, Peru.

Peru President Pedro Castillo on Friday named Minister of Culture Betssy Chavez as the country’s new prime minister.

She will replace Anibal Torres, who resigned late on Thursday.
