Court orders temporary forfeiture of properties worth $4.76million belonging to former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, on Tuesday ordered the temporary forfeiture of two penthouses linked to former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, valued at $4.760million.

The affected properties include, Penthouse 21 building 5, Block C, 11th floor (Bella Vista Estate) Banana Island, Ikoyi, and Penthouse 22, Block B (Admiralty Estate) also in Ikoyi area of the state.

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, ordered that the properties be forfeited to the Federal Government pending the conclusion of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigation into the ownership of the properties.

The judge gave the forfeiture order following an ex-parte motion filed by the EFCC.

The anti-graft agency, in its motion informed the court that the affected properties were suspected to be proceeds of crime
