Suspected terror attack mastermind, Salah Abdeslam has been extradited from Belgium to France, Belgian authorities say.
The Belgium-born French citizen faces prosecution there in relation to the Paris terror attacks in November.
The 26-year-old arrived on French territory early on Wednesday, and was handed over to authorities, the Paris prosecutor’s office said.
Abdeslam is due to appear before the investigating magistrate the same day, and would be placed in provisional custody, the Paris prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
He was wounded and arrested in a raid in Brussels on 18th March after four months on the run.
Last week, Belgian authorities charged Abdeslam with attempted murder over his alleged role in a shootout with police in Brussels days before his capture last month.
Four police officers were wounded in the March 15 shootout in the Brussels suburb of Forest.
