A raging unrest began in Handwara area of Kupwara district in north Kashmir, India on Tuesday after two youths died when Army opened fire on protesting villagers.
The protest was held against an Army man who, on duty, allegedly tried to molest a girl near a wash room in the main town.
The news of the molestation sparked protests in the town as the villagers demanded the arrest of the army personnel involved in the molestation.
Locals said that army opened fire on the protesting villagers that left four youths injured.
One youth died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Handwara confirmed the death of two youths.
