Nigerian AirForce jet involved in minor incident

On Thursday, March 24, 2016, one of the fighter jets of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) was,  involved in a minor incident in Yola, Adamawa State.

This was disclosed by Director, Air Force Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa via a statement released on Friday, March 25.

He said,  “A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF/457) has veered off the runway at Yola Airport.”

“The incident happened yesterday (Thursday) at about 1900hrs (7:00pm) when the aircraft was returning from a late evening attack at the Sambisa Forest.”

“The aircraft, on landing, veered off the runway, and stopped at a ditch beside the runway.”

“No life was lost as both ‘pilots on board came out unhurt.”

Grp. Cpt. Famuyiwa also said that investigations had begun into the cause of the accident.
